The Review...L'Oreal Infallible 24 Matte Foundation

Hello again!

If you saw my recent haul you'll have spotted that I picked up the new matte foundation from L'Oreal. I've not really been into matte foundations, since my very oily skinned teenage phase at about 14. Since then I've been all about a natural dewy and glowy look to my skin. But ever since this foundation has been released I've been hearing great things about it so felt like I had to give it a go.

I've been using it for about 2 weeks now so I think it's been long enough for me to give you an honest opinion! Let's start with the texture and finish. As the name would suggest, it's a matte foundation, but it's sort of better than that. A lot of matte foundations, almost work too well on the skin and leave an artificial flat look to the skin. This keeps the complexion shine free but still allows a little bit of natural radiance to shine through.

It claims to be full coverage, although I'd say more medium to buildable coverage. Another plus side to this; with a few light layers, you can have great coverage (no noticeable skin issues or redness) but it still looks really natural and not cakey in the slightest.

I have dry to combination skin right now and had no problems with this, it actually felt extremely comfortable on the skin. The wear is brilliant...I can apply this in the morning and stay out well into the evening without needing to touch anything up. By the evening a little bit of oil will start to come through, but this just gives me a bit of a healthy glow and doesnt look yucky in the slightest.

I'd definitely recommend this foundation as I think it does a brilliant job for a drugstore foundation and is a brilliant price! I think I might try out the primer that goes with it soon....

Drugstore Beauty Haul

Hi guys!
This week I'm coming at you with a little bit of a beauty haul...A little trip to Boots happened which resulted in me going a bit nuts in the beauty aisles meaning I bought waaaaay more then I meant to. Never mind. I'm really happy with everything I got though so I thought I'd show you!

(From the top, working round clockwise)

First up the Soap and Glory Clean on Me Shower Creamy Claryfying Shower Gel- I've used this before but not for a while so thought I'd grab it again whilst I was eyeing up the other S&G products.
Garnier Express 2in1 Eye Make Up Remover- This is a biphase solution, which I always find are the best eye make up removers. Never tried this one before but I don't have a bad word to say about Garnier products so I'm looking forward to trying this out.
LOreal Paris Infallible Matte Foundation-This is brand new to the drugstore, but I've heard some great reviews so I snapped it up! I have the shade Vanilla.
Maybelline Forever Strong Professional Nail Varnish- I already have a few of these polishes. They have a fantastic shade range, a fab wide brush and last pretty well. The shade I picked up is Surreal.
Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner- Word on the street is this lip liner (in the shade East End Snob) is a great dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk. I've already used this a few times; it's perfectly creamy, lasts ages and works really well under most nude lipsticks.
Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Liner- I picked these up in black and nude. The nude one is great for the lash line, highlighting inner corners and brown bones. The black liner is so creamy and blendable, it's great as a standard eye liner but also meansyou can create a smoky eye in about 30 seconds!
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick- I've been looking for the perfect matte nude/ pink lipstick for a while and I've finally found it in this Rouge Edition Velvet in the shade Don't Pink of It!It has a bit of a rosy hue to it, so not quite as pale as a traditional nude (which don't seem to suit me anyway!)
Soap and Glory Archery Brow Pencil- I have the shade Blonde-Shell. It's the perfect cool shade for blondes. No warm red tones which just look strange, but not too taupey. I love that it's a twist up pencil on one end and has a spoolie on the other end to comb the brows through.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara- Another new product to the drugstore. I was in need of a new mascara so decided on this new offering from Maybelline. I tried it for the first time today and must say I'm impressed. It has a plastic wand, with longer bristles on one side, perfect for top lashes, and shorter bristles on the other side which was great for bottom lashes. The formular was very light on the lashes and very black but actually stayed all day. I really like it already.
Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub- It smells of limes and yummy sweet things and polishes your body to within an inch of it's silky life. Again, this is another S&G product I've previously used and re-purchased because it's brill.
And finally, the most interesting purchase of all ( I jest...) cotton wool. Because y'know, a gal has to take off all that make up at the end of the day.

Below are all of the swatches of the products listed above....

L-R Brow Archery in Blonde-Shell, Rouge Edition Velvet in Don't Pink of It!, Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob, ScandalEyes liners in Black and Nude.
Hopefully you've enjoyed seeing what I've picked up recently. Let me know what new things you've been trying.

The Review....NAKED

Hi guys!

This week I'm back with a sort of review/chat about all three of the Urban Decay NAKED palettes.

Now all the hype in the blogging world has (sort of) calmed down in regards to the three Naked palettes and now I've actually had a chance to really test out the little beauties I wanted to give you my honest opinion of all three.

As they are so well known I'm not going to do an in depth review of every single shade in each one as that would take forever, but I do want to chat about my top picks from each palette.

Just a general comment about all three first of all: the original comes in card board packaging, with a magnet to keep it closed (not fabulous, but obviously it's what's inside that counts. 2 and 3 come in very durable tins, 2 has a sort of chrome look to it whilst 3 is more of a rose gold shade. Each one comes with 12 shadows in a range of finishes; you've got everything from mattes, demi mattes, satins, shimmers and full on glitters. All of the shades have a wonderfully buttery texture, which just makes the shadows a complete dream to work with.

Now let's have a look at the individual palettes. Starting with the original Naked palette. The shades are as follows: Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Gunmetal, Creep. This is the warmest of the three palettes, with a great range of gold and brown tones. There's also a really good mix of lighter shades and darker shades. The possibilities are literally endless! My favourite shade from the OJ Naked palette would have to be Sin- it's the perfect lid colour for a smoky look, but also looks really pretty just on it's own.
Rating: 9/10

Moving on to Naked 2, this takes a cooler approach to neutrals, with more purple, taupe and grey tones to it. This tin comes complete with the following twelve shades:Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted, Blackout. This palette is great for dark and smoky eyes. My favourite shade from this one is probably Chopper- slightly out of place with the rest of this colours, this shimmery copper shade really stands out and works really well with the other shades or simply blended all over the lid.
Rating:8/10

And finally the most recent edition to the "Naked" family, Naked 3. The is the rosy pink sister to the Original and Naked 2. Shades include; Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackheart. This is such a pretty palette!! I've been having a bit of a pink love affair recently, so I've constantly been reaching for this. My favourite shade would have to be Buzz, a purpley pink shimmer. You can just do a light wash for a slight hint of colour or really build up the colour.
Rating:10/10

So there you have my thoughts on the three palettes! Do we think there could be a number 4 on it's way? Let's hope so!

OOTD- The Wedding Edition.

Recently I attended a Spring wedding which meant I finally had an opportunity to wear this gorgeous red dress! It was specifically made for me by my very talented mum, so you can't get you hands on it, but it's so pretty I wanted to share it with you.

I teamed it with a classic pair of black court shoes from Kurt Geiger, a small black quilted shoulder back and red tips and lips.

Hope you enjoy!
